Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with heavy duty parts questions and needs

  • Take orders from walk-in customers, over the phone and by email

  • Provide excellent customer service to both shop and field technicians and assist at the counter with external parts.

  • Clearly and effectively communicate product features, benefits and warranty policy to customers

  • Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed including coding, costing and pricing

  • Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.

  • Locates out-of-stock parts from an outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.

  • Notifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.

  • Wrap or bag merchandise for customers and assist in loading to their vehicle

  • Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and show professionalism in conduct and appearance at all times

  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on the service repair order.

  • Prepare invoice, receives payment from retail customers, or obtain credit authorization.

  • Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer.

  • Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.

  • Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.

  • Solicits assigned accounts by phone.

  • Help with shipping and receiving when required

  • Help keep display areas clean and organized

  • Be available at fiscal yearend to help with inventory

  • Pick customer orders

  • Be available to work a Saturday shift and be on-call after hours

  • Adhere to Fleet Brake’s published policies and procedure

  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor not far outside my expertise and training.
     

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills

  • Basic computer skills (Windows, Explorer, Outlook, knowledge of Karmak is an asset)

  • Knowledge and experience in Heavy Duty parts

  • Knowledge of Heavy Duty cataloging and/or inventory management systems

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both written & verbal)

  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced retail sales environment

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

  • Ability to write simple correspondence. 

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
